As the back-to-school season is now underway, many families in our community are facing a tough reality. While we see the children and grandchildren in our families excitedly selecting their new backpacks and supplies, we can’t help but to consider the many families who are struggling to provide essential groceries and nutritious lunches.
What if there was an organization in our community who believed every child deserves the chance to thrive in the classroom, unburdened by the stress of food insecurity? What if they were dedicated to distributing resources to families ensuring their success?
We are grateful to be in a position to support The Muslim Food Bank with their Annual Fundraising Dinner this year, for a deeply personal reason. In February, we experienced the loss of our beloved father, Haji Mohamed Farouk. Those who knew Farouk, knew him as a caring and charismatic community leader who was profoundly committed to the betterment of our ummah and beyond. His vision for community-building included opening the doors of Sayeda Aisha Centre to allow for the Muslim Food Bank’s first Distribution Location in Ontario.
Farouk’s legacy of compassion and dedication to helping those in need inspires us to continue his work. His steadfast support for organizations such as The Muslim Food Bank was a testament to his belief in the power of community and generosity.
In his honor, we have set a goal to donate $10,000 (equivalent to selling 200 Tickets) to support this vital organization and carry forward our husband/father’s mission of kindness, inshAllah.
In this same spirit of kindness, we ask for your support of this worthy organization. Your contributions will help The Muslim Food Bank to reach their Fundraising Goal and ensure the locations in Ontario are able to help as many families as possible. Let’s raise another $10,000!
